Collagen is a structural protein found throughout the body. It enters the diet with animal tissues and is also sold as gelatin or hydrolyzed collagen peptides. Human research has focused mainly on selected skin measurements and symptoms of knee osteoarthritis. It does not support broad promises of rejuvenation or universal tissue repair.
Which collagen are we talking about?
Skin: a positive signal, with caveats
Joints: symptoms are not proven cartilage repair

06FAQ
01Is dietary collagen enough? Food supplies protein and amino acids, including the building blocks found in collagen. Supplement trials do not show that extra collagen is necessary for everyone.
02Are hydrolyzed peptides better than gelatin? They have different properties, but research does not establish one form as universally superior for skin or joints.
03Can a collagen supplement remove wrinkles? Trials have examined hydration and elasticity, but they do not validate a promise that wrinkles will disappear. Check the source and ingredients and keep expectations realistic.
