01

1. Drei verschiedene Ideen Chronotype concerns timing. Sleep duration is how long you sleep, while regularity concerns how stable your schedule is. A late weekend wake time may reflect recovery from short nights rather than a permanently late biological preference.

02

2. Erst beobachten, dann ändern Keep a simple two-week diary: bedtime, wake time, alarm use, estimated sleep duration, energy, naps, shift work, and evening light. Compare workdays with free days. A questionnaire or wearable can suggest a pattern, but neither measures every aspect of circadian biology.

03

3. Sozialer Jetlag Social jetlag is the gap between sleep timing on obligation days and free days. Reviews in adults find that later timing and greater variability are generally associated with less favorable health indicators, but they do not establish a universal bedtime or prove causality.

04

4. Behutsam anpassen Protect enough sleep and keep a realistic wake time. If you want an earlier schedule, shift gradually instead of forcing a dramatic change. Morning daylight and dimmer evening light can support a coherent routine, but they do not turn everyone into a morning person or replace clinical care.

05

5. Ein Sieben-Tage-Experiment Observe for two days, change one reversible habit for three days, then review comfort, alertness, and fatigue. Stop or step back if tiredness increases. Useful general habits include sufficient sleep opportunity, a calm wind-down, a suitable bedroom, and limiting late stimulants when sensitive.

Häufige Fragen ### Can chronotype change? Its expression can shift with age, light, habits, and obligations, but it is not an on/off switch.

Am I a late type if I sleep late on weekends? Not necessarily: recovery sleep may explain the difference.

Is there one perfect bedtime? No. Sufficient and reasonably regular sleep matters more than a universal clock time.
